SCHOLARSHIP AND SUPPORT OPTIONS:
Turkiye Scholarships Doctoral Scholarships
Candidates who have graduated or are likely to graduate from an educational institution equivalent to that of Türkiye’s in the present academic (i.e. bachelor’s degree for master’s level) can apply to Türkiye Scholarships. It is expected to have a certain academic score from candidates for each program and scholarship level. The selection of candidates is carried out according to academic achievement and interview performance. Türkiye Scholarships Students are subject to a Turkish language course for one year if they do not have proof of Turkish Language proficiency
To receive the scholarship, students need to do the following in parallel within the relevant application periods: i) apply to ABU University and be admitted, and ii) apply to the Turkiye Scholarships Doctoral Scholarship program using their online application system and be selected.
Turkiye Scholarships Research Fellowship
This Research Fellowship Programme aims to encourage international researchers and academics to work with Turkish academics on collaborative researches in Turkey and contribute to the development of the international scientific interaction between researchers. Applications for Research Fellowship Programme are open all year round. Applications are received online in four periods.
PhD holders or PhD candidates who are citizens of countries other than Turkey may apply to the Research Fellowship Programme. Candidates must have completed their PhD studies or be at the dissertation stage abroad.
Monthly stipend is 4.500 TL. Fellowship does not include costs such as accommodation, insurance, and tuition fee. However, ABU provides additional benefits for externally-funded post-doctoral researchers, including housing aid, meal card, health insurance and more.
TUBITAK 2216 – Research Fellowship Programme for International Researchers
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) grants fellowships for international highly qualified PhD students and young post-doctoral researchers to pursue their research in Turkey. The purpose of the program is to advance international cooperation of Turkey in science and technology by providing financial support to international young researchers who have received their PhD or are still registered to a doctoral program abroad.
The scope of the program includes monthly stipend, travel expenses, and private health insurance cost. Maximum duration of the support is 12 months. As from the deadline of the application, the applicant must be registered to a doctoral program abroad and be successful in the PhD qualifying exam or must be completed his PhD.,
TUBITAK Horizon2020 Marie S. Curie COFUND Project
CoCirculation2 Project Proposal submitted in 2017 by TÜBİTAK EU Framework Programmes National Coordination Office has been funded by European Commission. This is a 5-year project aiming to invite experienced researchers to both academic and non-academic research performing organizations located in Turkey. Within this context, 100 experienced researchers of any nationality who wish to engage in incoming mobility and to spend a period of 24 months in Turkey will be able to apply for a fellowship. 4 calls for proposals will be published.
Experienced researchers who will be funded under this funding mechanism will receive €5050 monthly salary and €800 monthly research, training and networking allowance. Allowances of the researchers will be very similar to those provided under H2020 Marie S. Curie Individual Fellowships. TUBITAK Research Projects
From time to time, we have open positions for MS and PhD students in our TUBITAK research projects for a maximum period of 3 years. The stipend varies depending on the project. KU provides the same side benefits as those of ABU Graduate Fellowship for all Project-based Graduate Scholarships.
